We think this may be a light at the end of the tunnel. Politicians have stood behind the shield of "science" for a long time. In truth, they have abdicated their responsibility to those that have elected them. We note that few medical scientists have also an understanding of either economics or policy governance. Therein lies the rub. There is only one side of the story to make decisions about. The taxpayers and voters are shortchanged by being only very narrowly represented. And, of course, the taxpayers get to pay for any mistakes.
