Epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 99 cases of 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia in Wuhan, China: a descriptive study

This is an early retrospective study of 99 patients in a Wuhan hospital. This article was published today by Lancet. The study ended in Wuhan on January 25th.

Compared to an earlier assessment the is one important difference. An earlier study showed a mortality rate of about 3% while this is around 11%.

In this small study, the r0 or "r(naught) measure is meaningless.

As you read this they mention bacterial infections also. While you may not have heard of it, roughly 40% of flu patients also have secondary bacterial infections. This is quite common.

Flynn Case Update – Flynn Files Motion to Dismiss, Declaration of Plea Reversal – DOJ Files Revised Sentence Recommendation for Probation Only

Lawyers representing Lt. General Michael Flynn have filed a motion to dismiss [pdf here] citing “government misconduct”.  Additionally, Mr. Flynn has filed a declaration [pdf here] requesting to remove his prior guilty plea and take the case to trial.  Hours later the DOJ revised their sentencing memo, dropped their request for jail time and offered probation.

Maybe we are finally getting to the end of this.

"British Airways has today suspended all flights to mainland China with 'immediate effect' amid the escalating coronavirus crisis which has killed 130 people.

The airline halted all bookings on its website for direct flights from London to Beijing and Shanghai until March, following the Foreign Office's unprecedented advice last night urging Britons not to travel to mainland China unless their visit is essential. 

Flights to Hong Kong will continue - but passengers will have to use a different airline to head on to the Chinese mainland. It is not yet clear how BA will bring back its thousands of customers booked on flights to the UK from China over the coming weeks. "
