“This weekend, while speaking at the Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley, I was asked a question about the status of the development of an influenza/COVID-19 mRNA vaccine.  A quick search on clinicaltrials.gov (which is a government website where clinical trials are registered), found the following combined influenza/COVID-19 clinical trial, which is currently recruiting:

A Safety, Reactogenicity, and Immunogenicity Study of mRNA-1073 (COVID-19/Influenza) Vaccine in Adults 18 to 75 Years Old”

We think this may be a good alternative.  However, there is a fly in the ointment from a legal standpoint.  If this vaccine is approved for COVID-19, that may hazard other Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for other vaccines being used under EUA.  We are not sure how this will turn out.  That would not make Pfizer nor Moderna very happy.  Please see the first comment for a link to the Clinical Trial.
