“Walz issued an executive order on Friday calling in the National Guard to Minnesota’s “Twin Cities,” Minneapolis and St. Paul, to handle expected demonstrations and potential unrest. The trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is scheduled to start in March.”

“Minnesota’s top Republican threatened the budget of Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison after Ellison sought to crack down on two bars that openly defied coronavirus restrictions.  The threat of the purse string from Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-East Gull Lake, came as tensions over COVID restrictions on bars and restaurants seemed to reach new levels.”

Please forgive us, but we seem to have heard this before.

“We are pleased that Governor Walz lifted his March 27 Executive Order 20-23 restrictions on chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. As the governor’s Executive Order 20-84 issued on August 12 states: 'The authorization for the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy to implement dispensing limitations related to these medicines is no longer necessary and can be rescinded. . . Paragraph 5 of Executive Order 20-23, which pertains to chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, is rescinded.'

No More Mr. Nice Guy?

“Once again, I have the great honor to translate remarks from the esteemed (maybe just steamed along about now) Governor of my home state.  He is articulate but sometimes you might miss the subtleties in the message.  No questions allowed last night, and why take the risk of doing that, since even the press corps is starting to wonder if he has a real grip on reality.  This was a concession speech.”
