“Hennepin County Sheriff Dave Hutchinson won’t seek reelection in November, multiple sources told Alpha News.”

“Hennepin County Sheriff Dave Hutchinson was traveling at speeds of more than 120 miles per hour, with guns and liquor on board, when he drunkenly totaled his unmarked squad car last month.  He also wasn’t wearing a seat belt and repeatedly lied to the responding officers by claiming he wasn’t the driver of the vehicle, according to a case file released Thursday by the Minnesota State Patrol.”

“Hennepin County Sheriff Dave Hutchinson has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty last week to driving drunk.  According to court documents, Hutchinson’s 90-day jail sentence was stayed and he will instead do two years of probation.  Under the terms of his probation, he is not allowed to consume alcohol or controlled substances and must submit to random testing.”
