There was over $350 million in property damage, an economic and graphic wound that will haunt for decades.  Residents moved away, many to northern Minnesota. Downtown is a ghost town. The police force is still severely depleted so murders, robbery, and carjackings are among the highest in the nation. 38th and Chicago continues to be an autonomous zone. Outside Cup Foods the temple of George Floyd stands. The sacred ground is covered with graffiti, iconic fists, flowers, and slogans."

"Audio clips from the archives of Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) reveal the harsh words Keith Ellison has had for Minneapolis police officers.  MPR previously included remarks from Ellison in its coverage of policing and crime, mostly from the early 1990s when Ellison was a lawyer and political activist.  In some of those remarks, Ellison is heard calling the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) “vicious” people who are “wolves in sheep’s clothing,” as well as an “occupying force.”"

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was booed and jeered off the stage by a crowd of thousands of Somali-Americans at a concert in Minneapolis Saturday night celebrating Somali Independence Day that featured a popular Somali singer Suldaan Seeraar. The audience at the Target Center booed and cursed Omar for a reported ten minutes even as others on stage tried to calm them down. Cries of, “Get out!”, “Get lost!”, “Get the f*** out of here!” and “Shut the f*** up” could be heard.

“Last month Minneapolis and St. Paul joined other major Democrat-run cities and required proof of vaccination in order to enter restaurants, bars, theaters, and other venues.”

“Backlash against vaccine mandates is growing across the country.  Businesses in Minneapolis are now suing Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey over his vaccine mandate.  The complaint says the mandate is “calculated and purposed to attempt to prod the general public toward vaccination.”  They also accuse Frey of using the bars and restaurants as “pawns.””
