Nearly a quarter of the homes for sale and 43% of the apartments for rent in Minneapolis hit the market since violent rioting began in the city.

“Unfortunately, history suggests the economic damage will endure long after the wreckage in Minneapolis is cleared. Economic research and basic economic theory indicate that local residents will suffer from myriad cascading consequences ranging from business flight, reduced capital investment, higher insurance costs, and lower property values. All of these effects will be especially hard on underprivileged communities. There is not an abundance of data on the costs of riots, but the evidence that does exist points in one direction.”

“A Minneapolis manufacturing company has decided to leave the city, with the company's owner saying he can't trust public officials who allowed his plant to burn during the recent riots. The move will cost the city about 50 jobs.”

“Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey was shamed into leaving a rally, Saturday, after he said he is not willing to defund his city’s police department.”

“Rioters torching whole sections of your city are not protesters. Many are professional agitators from out of town. Locals who loot stores are opportunists, many of them career criminals. The city’s message took zero notice of these elementary realities.”

We should add, that from arrest records a few professional agitators are from out of town.

“As of Saturday evening, at least 250 businesses across the Twin Cities had been vandalized, looted or had doors and windows smashed. Some have been reduced to rubble, destroyed completely by fire. Others have reported extensive water damage or severe fire damage.”
