“One of the hallmarks of Florida’s response to the COVID “pandemic” has been that it not only encourages residents to get vaccinated, but it provides no-cost therapeutics via a network of clinics.  The Biden administration has not been a fan of this strategy because it is both effective and popular.”

“Reconciliation is a very narrow process, and the Byrd Rule requires that anything included in a reconciliation bill must deal with taxes and budgetary issues. You also have stipulations about deficit offsets that must be taken into account. You can not pass regularly legislative items under the guise of reconciliation.”

“Given that, this ruling essentially defeats HR1, the ProAct, and much of what is included in the current “infrastructure” bill. Of course, none of those bills were likely getting support from Manchin anyway, but with reconciliation off the table to get this stuff passed, Schumer is now officially out of options.”

We also think this lawsuit is interesting. “Yesterday several Pennsylvania Republican Party officials and individual Republican voters filed a lawsuit in state court seeking to obtain declaratory and injunctive relief based on a claim that the legislation which adopted “no excuse” eligibility for absentee voting was an illegitimate amendment of the Pennsylvania State Constitution.”

This is an update of earlier posts and may turn out to be a much bigger story.

We think this is kind of a head-scratcher. The current number is over 89% of registered voters turned out. The previous Wisconsin highwater mark was only 73% in 2004. We will leave it to your imagination as to why that may be.
