We think this may be a light at the end of the tunnel. Politicians have stood behind the shield of "science" for a long time. In truth, they have abdicated their responsibility to those that have elected them. We note that few medical scientists have also an understanding of either economics or policy governance. Therein lies the rub. There is only one side of the story to make decisions about. The taxpayers and voters are shortchanged by being only very narrowly represented. And, of course, the taxpayers get to pay for any mistakes.

For a little perspective, Sweden has a population that is almost double that of Minnesota but whose death rate is now less than Minnesota's death rate. Sweden is almost done with its First Wave. Minnesota, not so much. So when you hear somebody bad-mouthing Sweden, you know what their agenda is. This is about a 7-minute read.

While we are not yet quite done with the issue, it does look like Sweden deserves less criticism. We don't recall, in the history of medicine, that there was ever a quarantine of healthy people, it was always the sick ones that were quarantined. In the US, the motivation first came to light by a high school student winning a science fair by modeling social distancing and its effects on epidemics. We think we need more adults in the room.
So keep your eye on the issue along with South Dakota.
