MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Article by CBS Minnesota

A recent listing has ranked Minnesota as the least tax-friendly state in the United States.

On Thursday, finance website Kiplinger released its rankings of the best and worst states for taxes. 

According to its 2018 Kiplinger Tax Map, the most tax-friendly states, from No. 1 to No. 10, include Alaska, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, Nevada, North Dakota, Delaware, Arizona, Mississippi and Louisiana.

SuperPAC Definition

Technically known as independent expenditure-only committees, Super PACs may raise unlimited sums of money from corporations, unions, associations and individuals, the spend unlimited sums to overtly advocate for or against political candidates. Unlike traditional PACs, Super PACs are prohibited from donating money directly to political candidates, and their spending must not be coordinated with that of the candidates they benefit. Super PACs are required to report their donors to the Campaign Finance Board "CFB" on an annual basis determined by election years and state required reporting.


As of March 26, 2019 - 2,395 groups organized as Super PACs have reported total receipts of $1,567,304,432 and total independent expenditures of $808,703,796 in the 2018 cycle.
