VOTE JULIA COLEMAN FOR SENATE DISTRICT 48 ON NOVEMBER 8TH

HELPING MN FAMILIES GET BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK

"Minnesotans are struggling with the costs of daily life in the face of record inflation, supply chain issues, and economic uncertainty. While government budgets are flush, the pocketbooks of the average Minnesotans have been hit hard (https://www.colemanforsenate.com)."

Senator Julia Coleman has been a fierce advocate for parents’ rights in education. She will continue to promote policies that put families in the driver’s seat of education and not the teachers’ unions. She has spearheaded efforts to give pregnant mothers more accommodations in the workplace. She has also been a firm supporter of law enforcement and public safety.

Moving forward, Senator Coleman will continue to fight for the people of her district and bring their voices to St. Paul. She promises to focus her next four years on fighting inflation, reducing the crime epidemic, and making our schools a better place for Minnesota’s kids.

MEET SENATOR JULIA COLEMAN

"Nine months pregnant with my first baby, I was called to run for the Senate, determined to secure a brighter future for my son and the next generation of Minnesotans.

In my first term, I fulfilled my campaign promises by successfully passing legislation to support growing families in Minnesota, fighting for law enforcement and safer communities, and achieving historic funding for Highway 212.

It has been an honor to serve my constituents in the Minnesota State Senate, advocating for our community, and seeing positive changes go into effect in our beautiful state. I am proud of the successes I have had in the legislature, but I know there is much more to do.

In 2021, I successfully passed historic funding for Highway 212, one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in the state. I have supported recovery for Mainstreet businesses to thrive, keeping Minnesota innovation here in Minnesota. I spearheaded accommodations for pregnant and postpartum women in the workplace, as well as passing legislation to help Minnesota’s most vulnerable mothers. In my second year, I fought for law and order, permanent tax relief, and better educational outcomes for our children. I am committed to making Minnesota an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. And I am just getting started.

In my second term, I will continue to fight for my constituents and their rights to safe streets, quality education, and thriving business opportunities. I will do this by continuing to support the brave men and women who make up our law enforcement, encouraging excellence in literacy and mathematics while empowering parents, and working hard to help families afford everyday life and small businesses afford to continue to exist in the face of record inflation.

I am seeking not only your support this November, but your input as well. I look forward to speaking with you on the campaign trail, listening to your ideas, and telling you more about my vision for Minnesota (https://www.colemanforsenate.com/meet-julia)."

THIS IS HOW SENATOR JULIA COLEMAN ADVOCATES FOR YOU:

SENATOR COLEMAN ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN & EDUCATION

"As a member of the Senate Education Committee, and a mother with children who will enter our schools, I am passionate about ensuring that the next generation of Minnesotans have access to quality education, focusing on improved literacy and proficiency in mathematics. My legislative record demonstrates this passion, and I am committed to continuing to work hard for our students.

Part of ensuring an excellent education is helping impeccable teachers to thrive. I introduced legislation in my first year to bring high-quality teachers into our schools from all backgrounds, while eliminating the outdated “last in, first out” policy that expels good teachers from our schools simply based on seniority.

I heard loud and clear from our schools that addressing the special education cross-subsidy is key to helping our local schools thrive, which is why I voted in favor of legislation to help close this gap.

I also believe it is incredibly important that our parents are involved in their children’s educAtion, and have complete transparency in the curriculum the students are being taught. Parents must be an integral part of deciding the curriculum and values being taught in our schools (https://www.colemanforsenate.com/issues/children-education)."

SENATOR COLEMAN RESPECTS YOUR FAMILY BUDGET

"I know what it’s like to sit down at the kitchen table, and in the face of record inflation and increasing shortages, try to figure out how to make your family budget work each and every time the government decides to open up your wallet and take more money out of your bank account.

I am committed to putting more of your hard-earned dollars back into your pocket, which is why I co-authored legislation this year to permanently repeal the social security income tax, make overtime pay tax free, and cut the income tax rate for Minnesotans across the board (https://www.colemanforsenate.com/issues/respecting-your-family-budget)."

SENATOR COLEMAN PROTECTS OUR COMMUNITY

"As the daughter of a law enforcement officer, I grew up watching my father run towards the situations everyone else was running from. I have a deep respect and admiration for our law enforcement officers, and have been a strong ally of theirs in the Senate.

I am committed to making Minnesota a safe place for our families, and have successfully passed legislation that makes Minnesota safer.

Last session, I authored a bill to add penalties for fleeing peace officers, and backed legislation to bring more people into the law enforcement profession.

I will continue to be tough on crime and supportive of our law enforcement officers (https://www.colemanforsenate.com/issues/protecting-our-community)."
